CENTRAL CROSS ISLAND ROAD UPGRADING PROJECT (CCIRUP)
Civil works supervision for upgrading the Central Cross Island Road (CCIR) in Samoa. The project is being carried out by SMEC in association with MMSM Ltd for the Land Transport Authority (LTA)of Samoa and is being funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), A specialised team of 10 international and 10 local experts are overseeing the project, ensuring quality and efficiency. Completion scheduled for 2027.
GREEN PORT INITIATIVES PROJECTS TO ENHANCE SAFETY, SECURITY & SUSTAINABILITY OF APIA PORT. (GPI)
Port Initiatives Projects: Enhancing the safety, security and sustainability of Apia Port MMSM Ltd Project administrator and Engagement Specialist, Emmy Meredith, has been appointed by Haskoning DHV Nederland B.V. (“RHDHV”) as the local liaison specialist. In this role, Emmy plays a crucial part in supporting the international team, ensuring seamless collaboration and project continuity.
CLIMATE RESILIENCE SECTOR PROJECT

MMSM engaged Sam Meredith to assist in reviewing and supervising surveys and site investigations carried out by others to ensure they include climate change adaptation specifications; undertake spot checks with Project Implementation Units (PIUs) of works quantities presented for payment, and report on the quantity and quality of all works; undertake regular field visits to project sites to monitor implementation and supervision of project physical works, to confirm that specified quality standards are being achieved and contribute to resolving any QA issues arising; assist the PMU in implementing and complying with the EARF and environmental safeguard and other related requirements including information disclosure and monitoring; strengthen the capacity of the Joint National Action Plan Technical Working Group (JNAPTWG) and Secretariat for environmental management and safeguard compliance through on-the-job training and implementation of recommendations as required by Ministry of Meteorology, Energy, Information, Disaster Management, Environment, Climate Change and Communications (MEIDECC) and Asian Development Bank (ADB); regularly review and report on the impact of project actions on the environment and determine the nature and extent of environment impact, if any, caused by the project; assist the National Environmental specialist and PIU in Ministry of Infrastructure in reviewing all infrastructure designs, proposed construction technology, and project implementation plans to identify any potential adverse environmental impacts; undertake training of PIU staff to carry out IEEs and QA procedures for its projects, as well as building awareness of stakeholders/ beneficiaries on environmental issues; conduct training of PMU and PIU staff in maintenance of different types of Project infrastructures; contribute to the preparation of project reports; and evaluate technical feasibility and costing of infrastructure projects to be funded under the Climate Change Trust Fund (CCTF).
